The use of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) Information and Digital Technologies (IDT) has given rise to new opportunities and challenges for designing and managing agile supply chains. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the role and implications of IDT of I4.0 for the Agile Supply Chain (ASC) strategy through a systematic literature review of 123 identified papers. The literature has been classified into three research lines based on the Technology Life Cycle: (1) Mature IDT of I4.0 and ASC; (2) Emerging IDT of I4.0 and ASC, and (3) A generic approach to the role and implications of IDT of I4.0 and ASC. This categorization gives an in-depth analysis of the relationship between the IDT of I4.0 and Agile Supply Chain and helps to clarify the way that the research has evolved. Among other findings, the results show that there is a prominent relationship between different types of IDT of I4.0 and ASC. These technologies can support the ASC by improving abilities to sense and respond to market changes and customer demands. The paper also discusses the gaps found in the literature, presents an ASC 4.0 model enabled by IDT of I4.0, and proposes new opportunities for future research.

“NEOLAiA, Transforming Regions for an Inclusive Europe’ ‘is an Alliance of nine European Universities cofunded by the European Commission in its 2023 call for the period 2023-2027. The aim of NEOLAiA is to transform regional connectivity by embracing (i) digital transformation, through (ii) inclusion and diversity in a context of (iii) enhanced mobility, which are the three pillars of the project. To achieve this end, “NEOLAiA, Transforming Regions for an Inclusive Europe” is based on ten lines of action that corresponds to each of the respective of WPs: WP1 Project Management; WP2 Improving Teaching and Learning; WP3 Diversity and inclusion – overcoming barriers to participation; WP4 Enhanced Mobility; WP5 Increasing the impact of regional research; WP6 Entrepreneurship – Capacities for the society of tomorrow; WP7 Towards a multilingual and intercultural European university; WP8 Adoption and maintenance of Open Science; WP9 Digital Transformation; WP10 Sustainability and dissemination. How can entrepreneurs protect their wellbeing during a crisis? Does engaging agility (namely, opportunity agility and planning agility) in response to adversity help entrepreneurs safeguard their wellbeing? Activated by adversity, agility may function as a specific resilience mechanism enabling positive adaption to crisis. We studied 3162 entrepreneurs from 20 countries during the COVID-19 pandemic and found that more severe national lockdowns enhanced firm-level adversity for entrepreneurs and diminished their wellbeing. Moreover, entrepreneurs who combined opportunity agility with planning agility experienced higher wellbeing but planning agility alone lowered wellbeing. Entrepreneur agility offers a new agentic perspective to research on entrepreneur wellbeing

Despite a fundamental revolution in digital technology, along with an ancillary reduction in the cost of transmitting knowledge, the innovation literature on knowledge collaboration continues to hold on to the spatial localization of knowledge collaboration as a truism. Drawing on the open innovation literature and knowledge-based view of firm innovation, this study explores key boundary conditions affecting the relationship between research and development (R&D) collaboration breadth, and product and process innovation. Using a large-scale survey consisting of 25,813 observations of 14,784 firms in the United Kingdom during 2004–2020, we demonstrate that the breadth of knowledge collaboration with regional, national, and international partners directly affects product and process innovation. However, this relationship depends on the geographical location of the collaboration partner, the type of partner, and the firm’s absorptive capacity.

Many institutional investors claim to be leaders in their commitment to sustainability, yet their real impact is undetermined. We look at the relationship between the presence of foreign institutional owners and the firm’s environmental outcomes in terms of performance and innovation. We argue that foreign institutional owners seek to mitigate their exposure to reputational risks by encouraging their investee firms to move towards better environmental performance. However, these owners are less likely to engage in long-term investments derived from environmental innovations. We examine these paradoxical motivations in the context of multinational enterprises (MNEs) in the chemical industry across 33 countries in emerging and developed markets and further explore how these investee firms’ international diversification affects these relationships.

In this essay, we review and discuss potential changes to dominant governance approaches that may help business leaders play a more active role in global sustainability issues. Instead of refining the ideas from traditional management paradigms, we seek to be intentionally provocative by bringing in fresh ideas from new, influential works on political philosophy to unlock businesses’ ability to enhance the long-term sustainability of the communities where they operate. Collectively, the reviewed books point to the importance of moving corporate governance approaches from their current dominance on shareholders’ interests to a greater emphasis on more collaborative arrangements that integrate a broader set of stakeholders’ interests in a manner that accounts for the financial as well as social and environmental implications of corporate action. It is not our intention to engage in a philosophical discussion of these works, but rather to obtain relevant insights from a related discipline that can help us add novel ideas to existing corporate governance debates

Proyecto de 2 años de duración en el marco de un consorcio europeo de 6 univerisdades de cuatro paises europeos. Su orientación ha estado dirigida a abordar y responder a la brecha que existe entre la provisión de formación y la disponibilidad de trabajadores juveniles capacitados, y dotar así a los jóvenes con habilidades emprendedoras dentro de las “redes alimentarias alternativas” marginadas (redes informales de aprovisionamiento y redistribución de alimentos, especialmente entre los grupos locales y vulnerables).

SHIFT tiene como objetivo aumentar la capacidad de las instituciones de educación superior (IES) para contribuir a los ODS mediante la evaluación y aplicación de estrategias y políticas ESG a través de la plataforma del Índice de Impacto ESG, dotará a los estudiantes, académicos, investigadores y personal de las instituciones de educación superior con las habilidades y conocimientos necesarios para aplicar y supervisar las prácticas ESG y reforzar la cooperación transnacional, facilitando el intercambio de mejores prácticas y conocimientos entre las IES.

Para ello se trabajará en la especialización de las competencias DigCompEdu con el fin de ofrecer pasaportes de excelencia en educación en línea.
